A flexible and personable companion sans to Adelle.
Adelle Sans, José Scaglione and Veronika Burian’s sans serif counterpart to the award-winning Adelle type family, provides a more clean and spirited take on the traditional grotesque sans. As is typical with TypeTogether typefaces, the most demanding editorial design problems were taken into consideration when creating Adelle Sans. The combination of lively character and unobtrusive appearance inherent to grotesque sans serifs make Adelle Sans an utterly versatile tool for every imaginable situation. Whether for branding, signage, or advertising, the keyword behind Adelle Sans’ use is flexibility.
Adelle Sans is available in 15 weights with matching italics, and includes seven roman styles with their matching italics in a condensed width to save space and keep legibility high. Each of these 30 styles is a perfect counterpart in terms of weight and vertical proportions to its slab serif equivalent, Adelle, and the condensed widths are adept at setting short texts while retaining all the personality expected from the Adelle family. This ensures an harmonious fit between both type families in the same block of text, and a pleasing change of texture when used at similar point sizes.
To support Greek and Cyrillic and to ensure coherence in the entire family, Spanish designer Octavio Pardo helped with the Cyrillic script and Greek expert Irene Vlachou designed the Greek script. The 1,145 character set includes typographic niceties, small caps, several sets of figures, and support for over 90 languages. It also includes a set of 35 icons specially designed for electronic publications. The complete Adelle Sans family, along with our entire catalogue, has been optimised for today’s varied screen uses.
